Gerard Nicholas Murphy qualified as a Barrister in 2004 (Honorable Society of King’s Inns). He is a practising Barrister and member of the Law Library of Ireland since October 2010. Gerard practises mainly in the areas of Company Law, Insolvency Law, Chancery, Personal Injuries, Planning and Environmental Law and Judicial Review, Valuation Tribunals, and Landlord and Tenant Law. He is a graduate of University College Cork.

Gerard practises in Dublin, and on the Cork and South Western Circuits. He advises clients in a number of complex commercial and insolvency cases, including challenges to the appointment of receivers, winding-up and company liquidation, examinership, summary judgment and debt recovery, shareholder and director disputes, bankruptcy and personal insolvency.

Gerard has been an adjudicator and mediator with the Residential Tenancies Board and a member of the Tenancies Tribunal. He is a qualified Mediator (Mediation Institute of Ireland).

In addition he has lectured and tutored in law at the Honorable Society of King’s Inns mainly in the Law of Torts, Company Law, Contract Law and Land Law.

He completed the Advanced Diploma in Planning and Environmental Law at the Honorable Society of King’s Inns in 2020.
