Mark J Dunne was called to the bar in 1998 and to the Inner Bar in 2019.

He read law in University College Dublin obtaining a Bachelor of Civil Law degree (honours) in 1994.  He obtained his Barrister-at-Law degree (honours) from the Honourable Society of Kings Inns in 1998.

He has an extensive general civil practice and specialises in personal injuries, professional negligence, administrative law/judicial review, non-jury actions, asylum law, defamation law, employment law and general commercial litigation.      He is regularly retained on behalf of the State, State Agencies, Insurance Companies media organisations  and private clients throughout the country.

He has appeared on behalf of clients in all of the courts in the State,  as well the Court of Justice of the European Union and various tribunals and commissions, including the Planning Tribunal, the Disclosures Tribunal, the Residential Institutions Redress Board, the Inquiry into the receipt, distribution and sale of tickets to Olympic Games (the Moran Inquiry) and  the Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Homes.

He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and acts for clients in arbitrations and also as  an Arbitrator.    He is a CEDR Accredited Mediator and an International Mediation Institute Qualified Mediator.
