On Friday, 27 June, the Media, Internet & Data Protection Bar Association (MIDBA) will hold its 2025 annual conference, bringing together media, technology and legal experts to explore the evolving landscape of the law in these areas.
The 2025 annual MIDBA Conference will offer attendees insight into the major issues pertaining to media, data protection and internet law from the past year.
In addition to members of the Law Library practicing in media and data protection law, guest speakers will include Alex Cooney, CEO of CyberSafeKids, Paula Mullooly, General Counsel at A&L Goodbody; Johnny Ryan of the Irish Council of Civil Liberties; and Paul Tweed, Partner at WP Tweed & Co.
Keynote Address

The keynote address will be delivered by The Hon. Mr. Justice David Barniville, President of the High Court, who will address the conference on the topic: “Ireland as a Hub for Technology Law.”
Topics include:
