Criminal Barristers are withdrawing services on 3rd October.

The Council of The Bar of Ireland has been left with no option but to recommend to our members an initial one-day withdrawal of their professional services.

We are calling on Government to implement a meaningful, independent and time-limited mechanism to determine the fees payable to barristers by the Director of Public Prosecutions and under the Criminal Justice (Legal Aid) scheme. Fair is Fair
